All Gifts to Annual Fund Matched until December 31st
This year we are excited to announce a special matching gift challenge. To celebrate our 65th Anniversary, the Board of Trustees and a group of current and alumni parents have joined forces to offer a $65,000 matching gift initiative for all contributions made to the Annual Fund before December 31st. This means that for every dollar you give between now and that time, another dollar will be contributed by this group to the School.
As you know, money raised through our Annual Fund helps to support the day-to-day operations of the School. You can make your gift online. For more information, please contact Marjorie P. Jean-Paul at 516-742-3434 ext 309. To learn more about the Annual Fund, click here.
Congratulations to the Varsity Boys Soccer Team,
2012 IPPSAL Boys Soccer Champions!
For the fourth time in the past five years, Waldorf's Varsity Boys Soccer Team traveled to the Portledge School in Locust Valley, NY (a neutral site) in order to play in the Independent Private and Parochial Schools Athletic League (IPPSAL) Boys Soccer Championships. This year’s opponent was Lawrence Woodmere Academy (LWA) who split the regular season games with Waldorf, each earning a win and suffering a loss.
"It was very gratifying to watch the senior corps of goalkeeper Novick; defenders Tsai, Chris Ogunfowora, and Greg Weiss; midfielders Pearce, tri-captain Caleb Yuan, Cody Bach, and Michael Wechsler; and forward Spitaliere walk off the field with the Championship trophy held high," said Coach LeSueur. "The team would also like to thank the entire Waldorf community for their very vocal support throughout the season, and especially at this Championship game." 9th Grade German Class Trip to Zum Schneider in NYC
On Friday, November 16, the 9th grade German class visited the German restaurant Zum Schneider in Lower Manhattan. Geared up with vocabulary, useful expressions, and a good appetite, the students ordered their food and engaged in light conversation with the waitress in German. Delicious genuine southern German dishes were enjoyed by all. This trip allowed the students to experience and use what they learned during class in regard to language and culture in an authentic setting. The following pictures attest the fun we all had!

Families are invited to stay at the Camp for two nights and participate in all aspects of Glen Brook's sugaring programs: tapping trees, gathering sap, feeding the wood-fired arch, cutting and stacking wood, and boiling and bottling syrup. The schedule is full, yet there is also ample time for exploring the out-of-doors, sitting by the wood stove in the Main House living room, or sledding on the hill. The pace of each day is the usual Glen Brook balance of play, work, and leisure time. All visitors enjoy a fine pancake feast on Sunday morning and take home a souvenir of maple syrup in Glen Brook's signature glass flask. Click here for more details.
