Waldorf Completes its 61st Year

Garden City, NY Tuesday, June 17, 2008 – The Waldorf School of Garden City completed its 61st academic-year on Thursday, June 12. Continuing a Waldorf tradition, the school year ended with a beautiful end-of-year assembly where students performed recitations, songs and short plays for their teachers, families and friends. As part of the celebration, each class teacher or advisor extinguished their classes' candle for the summer. In addition, 22 first graders presented the gift of a rose to each of the 23 students of the graduating senior class as part of the annual “rose ceremony.”  Click here to see photos from the End-of-Year Assembly and 8th Grade Graduation.

Later that evening, all 26 members from the class of 2012 took part in the eighth grade graduation ceremony. In September, 4 new students will join the class in the high school. Having carried the class of 2012 since third grade as their lower school class teacher, Ms. Claudia Hart will rejoin the school next year as the first grade class teacher. With a successful year behind them, the faculty, staff, and students at the Waldorf School can look forward to the relaxation and rewards of the summer vacation.  Click here to see photographs from the End-of-Year Assembly and 8th Grade Graduation.
