Parent Craft Circle

Start Date: Wednesday - May 21, 2014
Time: 8:30 AM to 11:45 AM
Location: Main Entrance Lobby

The Parent Craft Circle comes together every Wednesday from 8:30 am to 11:45 am in the Main Entrance Lobby to share in the fun of creating handcrafted toys. Karent Talluto, who leads the group, says, "We are "crafters" of all levels from beginner to more advanced and we love to share techniques and conversation. We are parents of children enrolled in the parent-child classes, nursery and kindergarten, grades 1-8, and even one recent high school graduate! We even have a faculty grandparent who crafts with us!"

The group makes items for our Fall Fair including needle felted pumpkins, mushrooms and ladybugs, knit chicks, wools gnomes and wool felt vegetables and knit chickens. Every three years, the group works on an auction item for the Gala. "Last May, our barnyard set with sewn and felted animals, a felted playscape and handmade wooden barn sold for the highest amount of all the auction items; $2000!" This winter and spring, the group will learn how to make root babies and begin making items for next year's Fall Fair.

Remarks Ms. Talluto, "It’s such fun to spend time together every week and share our passion for making beautiful crafts! Drop in for 30 minutes or stay for the full three hours. Everyone is welcome. We knit, crochet, sew and felt. You can also bring a project you are working on, share your talents or learn from one of your fellow crafters!"
