The annual Spring Concert will take place on Friday, April 26th in the gymnasium at 7:30 p.m. The theme of this year's concert will be "Rocks".
All of the Waldorf School orchestras will perform at this concert. The concert includes all students in grades 4-12 who participate in orchestra. In addition to the orchestra performances, we will also hear the high school Jazz Band, as well as the Middle School and High School Choirs.
There will be dress rehearsals at school on the day of the concert. Violinists should leave their violins in their classrooms and cellists should leave their cellos in the orchestra room after the daytime rehearsals so the music teachers and I can tune them and have them ready for the performance. Students in Chorus should arrive at school, ready to start rehearsing at 6PM. Students in Orchestra and Jazz Band should arrive by 6:45 PM on the evening of the concert in order to take care of any last minute details and get ready for the performance.
All students should wear assembly-appropriate clothes for the Spring Concert. The young ladies who play the cello need to take extra care to dress in an appropriate manner. Cellists should bring their home instruments as well as a rock-stop, rug, or strap to hold the end-pin in place. Each student is responsible for bringing his/her music. Please remember that attendance is required and counts towards the orchestra evaluation.
Thank you for your help with this event. We look forward to a very wonderful evening that celebrates music in the lives of the students.
