For 9th and 12th Grade Students, Parents and Guardians
High School Chair Roland Rothenbucher wants to remind you about preparations for the annual High School Orientation trip at Camp Glen Brook.
Fourteen years ago, the Waldorf High School initiated its orientation program for freshmen at Camp Glen Brook in New Hampshire. Since then orientation has been a way to welcome new students and get reacquainted with old friends. At Glen Brook we will continue the tradition of having high school seniors and incoming freshmen anticipate the year ahead.
Our days together in New Hampshire are meant to be fun-filled, relaxing, and informative. There will be hiking, outdoor activities, discussion groups, informational sessions, and plenty of time to relax and get to know one another. (Click here to download a preliminary schedule.) No electronic devices of any type (including iPods and cell phones) are allowed on the Glen Brook trips.
Our chartered bus will be leaving the Waldorf School on Monday, August 27th at 9:00 a.m. and will be returning on Wednesday, August 29th at 4:30 p.m. A suggested packing list can be found in the welcome packet sent to you in June or by clicking here. Pack lightly, it is a short trip. A picnic lunch will be served when we arrive at Glen Brook; students may bring snack items to eat on the bus or during our brief 15 minute stop at a roadside rest area.
If you have any dietary needs, please complete the online Dietary Needs Form. If you have any other health/allergy factors of which the staff should be aware, please write me a note and hand it to me on the morning of our departure. From the Health Office the following requirements must be met:
- All medication for students must be labeled with specific instructions and the student’s name along with a Parent & Prescriber’s Authorization of Medication form completely filled out. The medication must be handed to a staff member before boarding the bus.
- All students must have on file a completed medical form.
- Please return all forms to the health office as soon as possible. No student will be allowed on the bus without all required Medical Forms!
If you are unable to attend or if you have any questions or concerns about this trip, please leave a message in the High School at 516-742-3434 ext. 121, or contact Mr. Rothenbucher by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to seeing you on August 27th; please arrive by 8:45 at the latest!
