My name is Luca and I am a sophomore at the Waldorf School of Garden City. I was born in Florence, Italy, but I am Chinese. I am very lucky because I was grew up in Florence and it is a very beautiful and famous city. There is a rich culture of art, history, literature and interesting architecture. I live on Long Island and I am getting accustomed to my new home.
Outside of school I usually go out with my friends. Sometimes we go to the cinema or the city, but when the weather is good we go to play basketball. Sometimes during the week I go to the gym to exercise with my friends. When I am at home I sometimes play computer games, but when I get bored using the computer, I enjoy playing the piano.
I started to play the piano at 6 years old because my mom really wanted me to learn it and she wants me to one day play the piano in the church. I played the piano for 6 years and my mom made me practice every day. There were times that I really hated the piano. When I was 12 years old I stopped playing the piano for 3 years. Now I enjoy playing but just for fun and so I don’t forget how to play. I’m happy that I learned how to play the piano and I’m happy that I can continue to play the piano.
I chose to attend to Waldorf school of Garden City because I think it is a good school for studying and meeting new friends. I like this school because the students are close which is different from other schools. At this school students have a different relationship with the teachers. Teachers will help you when you need it. For example, if I do not understand a Main Lesson I can go to Mr. Jackoiwcz and he will explain it to me in English and this helps me to learn English and understand the lesson.
I live near New York City and sometimes I enjoy visiting and walking around and seeing the sites. I like Central Park, a very big park inside the city, where I can watch people and enjoy nature. I am looking forward to my years at the Waldorf School where I am free to discover and pursue my many interests.
