Developing Scientific Inquiry
Students are actively involved in exploring phenomena that interest them both inside and outside of the classroom. From the start, our kindergarten teachers foster scientific values by recognizing instances of them in the work of individual students and the class as a whole. Given the value that science places on independent thought, students are assured that although they make be working with others, they are free to reach different conclusions from classmates. Student investigations usually involve collecting specimens for observation, sorting things, using tools and building things.
