Trip to Germany, Austria and Switzerland

During the Spring vacation, a group of 20 high school students will visit Germany, Austria and Switzerland. "It's going to be a terrific trip," remarked Athletic Director Mr. Shane Flanagan who is organizing the itinerary. Students who take part in the trip will learn German conversation and comprehension skills; gain greater understanding of the sport and culture of soccer; visit some great sights in the three countries; as well as meet and interact with fellow students at the Waldorf School in Winterthur, Switzerland. For more information, please contact Mr. Shane Flanagan.

Day Three: Soccer and Heidelberg

Today was an action-packed day! We started this morning with soccer practice at a local club where a bunch of our boys and girls got to play together. The students who decided not to play soccer visited the local village with Mrs. Gallo and Tina, our tour guide. After freshening up at the hotel, we drove about 30 minutes to the university city of Heidelberg - Germany's first university (which now has about 30,000 students!). Heidelberg is also home to a beautiful 17th-century castle which we toured. Afterwards, we had some free time to wander around the pedestrian area of the city and pick-up some souvenirs and presents. Tomorrow morning we check-out and head south towards the Allgau area of the Bavarian Alps and Austria! Everyone is well and having fun!
