Roland has been Chair of the High School Faculty since 1996. He earned his bachelor's from Hamilton College and his master's from Middlebury College and has received numerous awards for his efforts in the classroom. He completed the Waldorf High School teaching certification program from Rudolf Steiner College in Fair Oaks, California and holds a New York State permanent teaching certificate. In addition to experience teaching German and drama in the Middle and High school, Roland has also been advisor to the classes of 1983, 1986, 1989, 1993 and 1998. While in college, Roland held a number of summer jobs that paved the way to teaching and administration. He worked as a passenger service agent for TransInternational Airlines at John F. Kennedy Airport and as an instructor of English and sports at Institut Montana in Zugerberg, Switzerland, where he joined an international staff teaching students from every continent.
