Carolyn obtained a bachelor's and master's degrees in biology from Adelphi University. A distinguished teacher, researcher, and scholar, Carolyn earned the Clare Boothe Luce Doctoral Fellowship and a Doctoral Teaching Fellowship at St. John's University. She has more than 20 years of high school science teaching experience and holds a New York State permanent teaching certification in biology, chemistry and general science for grades 7-12. She also holds certification in authentic science research from the University at Albany. In 2004, Carolyn completed the school's Foundation Studies program.
