Ash is a native of Maine. He has served as manager of several Five-Star/Five-Diamond (Relais & Chateau Association) restaurants in Maine and South Carolina and sees the culinary program at Glen Brook as a way to inspire children to love food as much as he does. Ash is a certified ServSafe Food Protection Manager. He is pursuing a bachelor's degree at Prescott College in Sustainable Community Development and recently completed a one-year course in biodynamic farming at the Pfeiffer Center in Spring Valley, NY. He has incorporated biodynamic principles into Glen Brook's growing farm and garden to create Glen Brook's Eco-Gastronomy Program, which was recently featured in /Lilipoh/ magazine. Ash plays the bass guitar, has a passion for World Music, and can be found at any given time of day in Glen Brook's kitchen or gardens swirling in a maelstrom of music, freshly-harvested, locally-grown food, and biodynamic-infused compost. He and his wife Brieta have three children, Dominic, Taja, and River at the Monadnock Waldorf School in Keene, NH.  Says Chef Ash, Having children in the garden and the kitchen brings great excitement and energy into the food. And it makes the food taste better for all of us.
