Inspiring Faculty, dedicated Staff

The faculty at the Waldorf School of Garden City are models for the kind of people we hope to graduate: bright, relentlessly curious, and cross-culturally fluent. They are committed teachers and scholars - people who want to help you develop personally and intellectually.

We cannot say enough about how profoundly your teachers will affect your life. Because of our size and small classes, you will get to know your teachers as human beings, and in turn, they will get to know you.

Elizabeth Cohen was born and raised on Long Island. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Adelphi University. After graduation, Elizabeth worked for Borders Books. “I really enjoy reading historical fiction and using it to bring our world’s history to life!” While working at Borders, she knew she found her calling and decided to go back to school to earn a Masters in Library and Information Science with a specialty in School Media from the Palmer School at Long Island University. Prior to joining our School, Elizabeth worked with students from preschool through high school. Her passion for children’s literature supports our youngest students and their teachers, while middle and high school students benefit from her expertise in technology and media. In her spare time Elizabeth hones her craft of book restoration.
