In a hard fought home season opener, Waldorf's newly minted "Junior Varsity" (JV) Boys Basketball Team lost to Portledge, 35-41. The game went back and forth throughout all four quarters with both teams working hard to keep the lead. However, it was Portledge that ended up being victorious after a great fourth quarter push.
Still, Waldorf played very well and some freshman players really put their stamp on the game. Freshman Max Sapuppo finished the game as Waldorf’s top scorer with 10 points, with six of them coming from "outside the arch." Fellow freshman William Strauss finished the game with eight points. Freshman George Ouellette’s last quarter heroics - in which he scored three of his total five points - were not enough for Waldorf to come out on top.
Waldorf's newly minted "JV" team - made up of a talented freshman and sophomore classes - was unlucky to come out with a loss, but Coach Boyd and Coach Flanagan are very proud of how these new players performed!
