In their final match in the season, Waldorf's Middle School Boys Soccer Team hosted the Green Vale School on a beautiful late-October autumn day. Because Green Vale only had 10 players, Waldorf also played with fewer players.
Waldorf scored their first goal only 3:30 minutes into the game when 7th grade midfielder Noah Negri passed the ball to the corner for 7th grade forward Alessandro Rossi who delivered a cross to onrushing 8th grade forward Daniel LePorin for the 01-00 lead. That score held up through the end of the half as the tight defense of 8th grade first-half goalkeeper Erik Beauvais, sweeper Issac Stume, and 7th graders Simon Davis and Christian Kritas held Green Vale to no shots on goal.
Two minutes into the second half, Beauvais, now playing forward, made an inside pass to 8th grade forward Sean Sullivan who passed to Rossi for the shot and the 02-00 lead. Beauvais recorded his second assist on a pass to the corner to 8th grade midfield Boris Epie for a bending lob shot over Green Vale’s goalkeeper for the 03-00 lead. Beauvais closed out the scoring himself by beating a couple of defenders and scoring to the far post for the final 04-00 Waldorf win.
Waldorf outshot Green Vale 14-03, and all players had very productive performances in multiple positions for their sixth consecutive win. "On behalf of all the players," said Coach Avari, "I would like to thank the parents, students, and faculty for their support on a fun developmental season watching our boys mature as individuals and as a team."
