Waldorf's Varsity Girls Basketball Team extended their record by defeating Solomon Schechter Day School by the score of 48–17 on Schechter’s home court.

In the first quarter, the Waldorf defense was key to opening up the lead as the team employed a half-court trapping defense for the first time this season. "The defense allowed our offense to transition into several fast breaks resulting in lay-ups at the other end," said Coach LeSueur. Eight of the ten players played significant minutes and scored points.

Four players registered 4 points each: Senior co-captain Carolyn Smalls, junior center Ajanai Miller Randolph, senior forward Alison DiLello and freshman Skyla Davis. The team's leading scorer was senior Isabella Fraim with 10 points closely followed by junior guard Marianna Paone with a season and career high of 9 points. Junior guard Jaclyn Proctor recorded 8 points as did junior guard/forward Sofia Trikas.

Co-captains Smalls and Fraim led by example. Their experience and defensive pressure resulted in numerous turnovers for Schechter. Showing why they will keep Waldorf in the limelight next season, the junior class used their quickness and passing skills to reach a new level.

"Freshman Skyla Davis, sophomore Emma Wallace and sophomore Nicole Tsai are starting to adjust to the speed of the game and gave us quality minutes in the second half," said Coach LeSueur. "Our team must now prepare to play its final league game against our long-time rival Portledge. We will have to put it all together if we want to upset the season-long #1 PSAA ranked team.
