Waldorf's Varsity Boys Soccer Team traveled to Woodmere, New York for their opening league match of the 2012 Soccer Season against the Lawrence Woodmere Academy (LWA). In the first half, LWA took an early 2-0 lead against the untested Waldorf defense (who were missing their sophomore players). LWA scored again at the 49:41 minute of the game on a breakaway to go up 0-3. Waldorf closed the gap to 1-3 when Pearce scored on a penalty kick at the 53:30 mark, but LWA scored on another breakaway at the 54:03 point.
LWA closed out the scoring and ended the game, 1-5.
