Waldorf's Varsity Boys Soccer Team began their season with a great start yesterday with a convincing win over Our Savior New American School. Co-captain and senior Peter Escribano netted three of Waldorf’s goals. His first goal was assisted by freshman Jun Kil Seong, his second was assisted by junior Daniel Macias and his final goal (to make it a hat-trick) was self-made and unassisted. Senior TJ Bohm positioned himself well inside the box and hammered Waldorf’s fourth and final goal. One other highlight of the game was sophomore goalkeeper William Strauss’s performance. Strauss's penalty save in the second half kept Waldorf on top and was a crucial save at a pivotal time. Strauss made six additional saves throughout the game. Head Coach Shane Flanagan was very pleased for the team's win as they start the season off on the best possible note. The team returns to action on Wednesday, September 11th when they travel to the "Five Towns" and play against Lawrence Woodmere Academy at 4:30pm.
