James Hughes   profile

A graduate of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, James earned a bachelor's in history and went on to earn a master’s in accounting from Long Island University. For 35 years, he worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Since retiring from the FBI, James has coached baseball – as well as football – at the high school level. He was an assistant varsity baseball coach at Mepham High School in Bellmore, New York and for nearly 20 years, James was also a little league baseball coach in Floral Park, New York. He is certified in first aid, automated external defibrillator (AED), and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). A certified New York State baseball and football coach, James looks forward to bringing his wealth of knowledge and passion to Waldorf’s Varsity Boys Baseball Team.

Brian DiUbaldo is our full-time high school guidance counselor and college advisor. A graduate of Binghamton University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Development, Brian also holds a Masters degree in School Counseling from Manhattan College. During his work at Hunter College High School, Brian successfully incorporated Naviance software into all aspects of guidance counseling, and he looks forward to doing the same at the Waldorf School. Naviance is state-of-the-art software designed to support high school students and their families with all facets of the college search, application, and decision-making process. During the spring, Brian is an assistant coach for our Middle School as well as Varsity Boys Baseball Teams.

A graduate of the Waldorf School of Garden City (class of 2012), Matthew Wasserman has played baseball since the age of five and has played on multiple travel teams over the years. While a student at Waldorf, Matt played on the Waldorf Varsity Baseball Team all four years of high school. During his senior year, he was recruited to play on the collegiate level and played for one year at Adelphi University as an outfielder. As an assistant coach, Matt specializes in hitting, base running and outfield.
