Event Recap:

Waldorf's Middle School Boys Soccer Team traveled to Woodmere, NY to play against Lawrence Woodmere Academy (LWA), eagerly seeking to end their two match skid.

Both teams used offensive surges to attack early, but Waldorf took control and scored first on 8th grade forward Aidan Akaba-Koubel’s goal to the far post for the 01-00 lead. Before the first half ended, 8th grade midfielder Daniel Le Porin registered his first goal of the season off of a scramble in front of LWA’s goal for a 02-00 lead, and Akaba-Koubel’s second opposite post goal closed out the half for the 03-00 Waldorf lead.

In the second half, Waldorf looked to put the game away early. Goals by 8th grade midfielder Erik Beauvais and Akaba-Koubel’s third goal (for his hat-trick) brought the lead to 05-00. 8th grade midfielder Issac Stume finished the quick salvo to push the lead to 06-00. All three goals were neatly tucked away to the opposite post each time.

All players got in at least one half of field time, took on multiple positions and played a much better controlled pass and shoot game in recording 29 shots. Beauvais and 7th grader Brennan Bates split the time in the goal for the shut out win.
