An undergraduate student in his senior year at Adelphi University, Richard Bird is earning his bachelor's in physical education and expects to graduate this May 2013. A 2,000+ point scorer and “Most Valuable Player” at Adelphi, Richard’s athletic awards and achievements are many, including the 2011 NABC Second Team All-District Selection, the 2011 ECAC Division II All Star award, and the 2011 Northeast 10 Tournament Most Valuable Player award (to name a few). Between 2007 and 2011, Richard was a Men’s Basketball Camp Counselor at Adelphi, Long Island University and Bentley University – as well as captain of Adelphi University’s Men’s Basketball Team. Since August of this year, he has been the assistant coach of Adelphi’s Men’s Basketball Team where he assists in the team’s planning, programming and administration as well as supervises clinics and helps create developed practice plans. In his spare time, Richard is an Inspirational Speaker for the Hempstead Police Athletic League.
