The Mabel Pew Myrin Planned Giving Society
H.A.W and Mabel Pew Myrin were very strong supporters of Waldorf education and among the founding members of the Waldorf School of Garden City. Four years after the Waldorf School of Garden City opened, they established the Waldorf Educational Foundation, which provided our School with substantial financial assistance.
In 1960 Mabel Pew Myrin was prompted to establish the Waldorf School Trust, to affirm her belief in Waldorf educational methods. This was the School’s first planned gift and, as with all planned gifts, we continue to reap the benefits of her generosity. In 2003, in honor of this extraordinary legacy, the school established the Mabel Pew Myrin Planned Giving Society.
Membership in the Mabel Pew Myrin Planned Giving Society is available to anyone who makes a planned gift to the school. Planned gifts can be made by individuals of any age in the form of bequests, real estate, charitable remainder trusts, charitable lead trust, life insurance, and/or retirement plan assets.
Having affirmed their steadfast belief in the mission of the Waldorf School of Garden City, members receive periodic mailings, invitations to special school events and recognition in our Annual Report.
