A few open spots remain in the upcoming Parent-and-Child winter session. Classes are offered at the Waldorf School of Garden City as well as two satellite locations – one at the Tanglewood Preserve in Rockville Centre and the other at the Garvies Point Museum and Preserve in Glen Cove. While classes begins on Monday, December 9th, interested parents are encouraged to call the school about available spaces.
The Parent-and-Child classes immerse families who are new to Waldorf’s early childhood program in “all-things Waldorf” such as wooden toys, bread-baking and helpful parenting skills. Toddlers and parents alike take part in activities – from singing songs to churning butter and baking bread – as well as enjoying a snack in a family-like setting. Parents also engage in discussions on important topics such as discipline and the value of daily rhythm for young children.
