Posted 03/17/2014 08:55AM

The Waldorf School of Garden City is proud to announce that sophomore Oliver Jaskowski recently won his first Level 2 tennis tournament over the March 15 and 16 weekend. Jaskowski competed at the Level 2 Eastern Athletic Club’s St. Patty's Open in Blue Point, New York defeating Brian Sputh of Sayville, New York, 4-2, 4-0 and on Sunday defeating Jake B. Landsberg of Huntington, New York 4-0, 4-1 in the final.

A sophomore at the Waldorf School of Garden City, Jaskowski has been playing tennis since he was 12-years-old. "I was inspired to keep playing tennis as a rookie "ballperson" at the US Open last summer and even appeared on ESPN TV coverage working the court for Stanislas Wawrinka vs. Ivo Karlović as well as the Williams sisters playing doubles. I plan on playing more tournaments and working at the Open again this year," Jaskowski said.

Additionally, Jaskowski finished 2013 with a Long Island Boys 16 Singles Rank of 3 (click here to read more). With this latest win, Jaskowski is likely to take the top spot when the rankings come out next month.
