High School Orientation Packing List
All clothing should be sturdy, washable, and able to endure rough activity and dirt. The Orientation trip is a short three-day, two-night trip at the end of the summer: pack lightly!
• 2 pairs of long work pants
• 2 pairs of shorts
• 1 pair tie shoes, suitable for outdoor work; hiking boots are fine
• 1 pair of sneakers
• 1 shirt for each day
• sturdy socks—a clean pair for each day
• Hat or cap
• Sweater or sweatshirt
• Jacket (one that can take abuse)
• Bathing suit
• Pajamas
• Rainwear including footwear
• Soap, toothpaste, other toiletries
• Bath towel and washcloth
• Pillow, if desired
• Flashlight
• Sleeping bag or sheet and light blanket
Any medications or special procedures should be brought to the attention of the advisor prior to the day of departure. Please include written instructions. All meds must be labeled with the student’s name.
Among the purposes of Glen brook are working hard, eating well, living simply, enjoying the community of the class, and trying to transcend some of the intrusions of everyday life.
It is preferable to use a duffle bag or soft luggage bag rather than a suitcase or trunk.
