On April 24th, grades 1-4 participated in Book Character Day in celebration of National School Library Month. The students got into the spirit by dressing up as beloved book characters and sharing their favorite books with their classmates. The students were very excited to tell all their friends about their favorite characters and learn about a few new ones as well.
1st Grade: Our first graders represented characters from a variety of books, such as The Man with the Yellow Hat from Curious George, the Orange Crayon from The Day the Crayons Quit, Laura Ingalls from Little House on the Prairie, and Pippi Longstocking!
2nd Grade: Our second graders introduced the classes to characters such as Fern and Wilbur from Charlotte’s Web, Joe Hardy from the Hardy Boy Series, Pinkaliscious, and Winnie the Pooh!
3rd Grade: Our third graders treated each other to a variety of fairies from the Rainbow Magic series and characters from the Magic Tree House series. We even met a character from the Hobbit!
4th Grade: The 4th grade class really got into the spirit, sharing information about characters like the Cat in the Hat, Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, Loki from Norse Mythology, some members of Camp Half-Blood from the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, and an entire group of characters from throughout the Septimus Heap fantasy series.
Students truly enjoyed their literary day!
