The 8th Grade Trip has been off to a stellar start. Below you can learn about all the activities we have been enjoying.
Tuesday, May 15th
The eighth grade class explored the Salt Marsh. The excitement was high as they netted crabs, shrimp, and fish. We pulled up a baby horseshoe crab in a large net, which we observed, before setting all the creatures free again.
Community service involved chopping down invasive vines in the woods. Going to work with a will, they shouted, “Save the trees!” It was the perfect challenge!
Most of all they enjoy the freedom to walk the grounds & especially to talk & talk…& talk. The main focus is that they want to socialize.
The talent show was a highlight, with groups of students supporting each other’s presentations. Feelings were expressed that they are sad to be parting at the end of the school year.
Everyone agrees that this class trip is the best! Thanks to Ms. Cimino for organizing the perfect eighth grade trip.
Wednesday, May 16th
After a pancake breakfast, we had a fascinating tour of Sylvester Manor. The students had been well prepared by their class teachers & were able to articulate the history of the manor.
Unfortunately, a game of basketball was cut short due to the rain.
