On December 12^th, the High School Community Service Club, led by High School Science teacher Carolyn Ver Pault, collected, assembled, and shipped around 100 filled stockings to deployed troops through the organization, Adopt-a-Platoon. Founded in 1998, the volunteer based nonprofit serves America’s troops from all branches of the military and their families by “ensuring that they are not forgotten by a grateful Nation.” Read more about Adopt-a-Platoon at adoptaplatoon.org.

Students and faculty worked together to fill the stockings with a variety of goods including; candy, black socks, hot chocolate and cider packs, puzzles and games, and travel-sized toiletries. Additional toiletries, games, candy, socks and New Year decorations were also sent. It was a wonderful day of collaboration in the true spirit of the holiday season in an effort to improve the quality of life for these most deserving military personnel.
