It’s the season of giving, and this month, a group of current and alumni parents joined forces to offer simultaneous matching gifts that triple each donor’s contribution to the Waldorf School of Garden City. “A matching gift, in the world of fundraising,” said Waldorf’s Director of Development Marjorie P. Jean-Paul “is a powerful form of leverage, a way to increase the impact of each donation and make donors feel they’re making more of a difference.”

This year, the School is pleased to offer this special matching gift challenge that will end on December 31st. Each new and increased gift to the School’s unrestricted 2011-2012 Annual Fund will be matched — dollar-for-dollar — up to $20,000. “By doubling your gift from last year,” said Jean-Paul, “our donors are actually tripling the benefit to the School!” For example: If a donor increases his or her gift from $100 to $200, the School will receive another $100 through the matching gift challenge.
