- Water on Earth
The first major topic explored in the 7th grade Science and Environmental Awareness class is that of water. Students carefully and thoroughly explore water as a natural resource, delving into the water cycle and considering where and how water is used in their daily lives. Though we have all heard, “water, water everywhere… (and not a drop to drink!)” — what does that mean? Where is water, really, on our planet? How much water is there? And finally, is all of the water on the planet available to us…or not? This interactive, laboratory lesson explores the locations and relative amounts of water in the hydrosphere, and also teaches the technical skills of pouring and transferring liquids in the lab. Join us for a watery expedition through all parts of the hydrosphere!
