4th, 5th & 6th Grade Parent Meeting
January 16, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm EST
LOCATION: High School Student Room
Dear 4th-6th Grade Parents and Guardians:
On Tuesday, January 16th at 7:00 pm we would like to invite you to a parent evening in the High School Student Room, specifically designed to address the inherent challenges and responsibilities associated with internet use among children and more specifically, issues that may come up if a child has access to a smartphone at home. While technology, in many respects, can prove to be a valuable educational tool, it is critical that families open up lines of communication regarding responsible usage. As our children grow, the role technology plays inevitably grows as well.
In this workshop, we will discuss: Social Media, Smartphone usage, Parental Controls, Family Media Contracts, access to media (internet, cell phones, etc.), modeling responsible behavior, as well as offer strategies in talking to children about internet content (including violence and nudity). This workshop will be facilitated by Chelsea Rissner, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Stephanie Gonzalez, Library Science Specialist.
Please RSVP Form if you plan on attending!
