Middle School Boys Baseball Game – AWAY

Waldorf vs Buckley:

I would like to sum up an incredible win with one word: EFFORT.  The entire team worked hard, listened well, communicated, and put forth an incredible effort to lock up an impressive 16-6 victory.  Henry, our game ball recipient, pitched 4 solid innings and broke through with a monster HR in the 5th.  Runner up for game ball, Luka, made a gold glove play at first to end a potential big inning by Buckley and hit a GRAND SLAM to almost seal the victory.  Joshua made solid defensive plays at both 3rd and SS throughout the game and pitched a solid inning for us to close out the game.  David showed signs of a promising varsity catcher by blocking wild pitches and even picking a batter off at first base to end an inning.  Our outfield played solid defense and made the correct throws to hold runners on their bases.  The infield, although at times struggled, maintained their composure and made big plays.  Offensively all of the boys listened to their coaches, stayed disciplined at the plate, read their signs, stole bases, and ran with furious effort.  Coaching my first official game at Waldorf,  l could not have been more proud of the sportsmanship they showed, focus they maintained, and effort they gave to themselves, their teammates, and their coaches.
