UPDATE:
Due to the popularity of the stained glass workshops, Ms. Metz has decided to offer more sessions of the workshop for new and existing students.
Four (4) sessions will be available Thursdays from April 27 – May 18, from 7:00- 8:30 pm in the Art Room. Each session will cost $25. There will be a maximum of 8 students per session. You may register by clicking this link.
This spring, Nancy Metz, our grades 7-12 art teacher, is offering a unique opportunity to parents and members of our Waldorf community to learn the process that has enabled our 11th grade students to create their beautiful stained glass mosaics. These pieces have hung in our Breezeway gallery and traveled to other Long Island venues such as the Tilles Center.
Original:
Six (6) sessions will be available on Thursday and Friday evenings from March 16-31, from 7:00-8:30 pm in the Art Room. Each session will cost $25, and a minimum of 3 sessions is required to register. If you choose to register for all six session, you will receive a discount of $25 for a total of $125 instead of $150. You may register by clicking this link.
No experience is required and all materials will be available in the Art Room. Each participant will first select an unfinished mosaic from years past. As they complete the piece they will learn the basic glass cutting techniques, the construction process, and receive help with color choices and design decisions. Have one of these beautiful mosaics hanging in your home soon!
