Varsity Boys Basketball Game – Away

The Waldorf School of Garden City would travel to rival Portledge to meet for the second time of the season. The opening half Waldorf and Portledge went back and forth with both teams scoring and blocking the other. Waldorf would go into the half tied at 20. Waldorf was able to gain a 5 point lead at the end of the 3rd quarter. At the start of the 4th quarter the momentum shifted and Portledge went on a run. Waldorf trailed by 3 with 30 seconds to go. With 15 seconds to go, Junior Will Clauss would get the ball and nail a straight on 3 to send the game into overtime. A very rough overtime gave Portledge the edge where they won the game with a free throw beating Waldorf 62-56. Waldorf was led by Junior Issac Stumme’s season & career high 32 points. Will Clauss finished with 10, Junior Mike Reed 7, Senior Peter Leporin 4, and Sophomore Jovawn McNeil 3.
