The Waldorf boys soccer team traveled to Portledge this afternoon for what they knew was going to be a very physical and emotional game.

Both teams fought hard as the ball traveled from box to box with chances falling to both teams. Waldorf were confident and composed in both defense and offense and narrowly missed going ahead on a number of occasions.

It was about 10 minutes before half time that Junior Aidan Koubel, who was having the game of his life, was fouled inside the 18 yard box and as a result Waldorf were rewarded a penalty kick. Junior Erik Beauvais stepped up to the challenge and smashed home the goal that would put Waldorf 1-0 ahead.

Second half came along and both team again were battling hard to keep possession. After about 15 minutes of play Portledge tied the game at 1-1 as they scored deep at the back post.

This game was far from over and both team kept pressuring each other.

After some amazing performances from Seniors Peter LePorin, and Max Pascucci, Juniors Aidan Koubel, Erik Beauvais, Sean Sullivan, and Boris Epie, Sophomores Justin Priester, and Freshman Luka Albano, not to mention an amazing save by Junior Isaac Stumme in the last 60 seconds, Waldorf and Portledge tied the game at 1-1.

Waldorf return to action this Friday when they host Portledge in what is sure to be another nail biter!
