Karen holds a B.S. in Education with Music Concentration and an M.S. Ed in Reading from SUNY Geneseo. She holds NYS Permanent Certification in Music, Reading, and Elementary Education. Prior to The Waldorf School School of Garden City, Karen was the Head of Music at two international schools, one in Vienna, Austria, and one in Berlin, Germany, before working as a long-term Music Substitute in the Massapequa School District where she was a General Music Teacher and Choral Director. Prior to this she taught General Music and directed the chorus for Kindergarten through Grade 5 in the Herricks School District.
