Shiori DeBellis is a bassist, pianist, and arranger, and has served as the School’s Orchestra Director since the Fall of 2019. . Originally from Japan, she studied at the Tokyo College of Music where she received a Bachelor of Music degree in composition. She received her B.M. from LIUPost in Music Performanceand was a recipient ofthe Department of Music Award for Service in Instrumental Music. While completing her studies at LIU Post, she performed as abassist in the LIU Post Wind Symphony, Wind Ensemble, LIU Post Orchestra and String Ensemble. Shiori is also talented as a jazz bassist, and she participated in and performed with the LIU Post Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combos and Vocal JazzEnsemble. She was awarded a Fellowship to the LIU Post Chamber Music Festival in 2014 and 2015 in recognition for her musical talents as a bassist, arranger and teacher.In addition, she is an arranger for manytypesof music and has done many arrangements for chamber music associations and TV programs,including the LIU Post String Ensemble, Japanese TV Program, and New York Virtuosi/Kammermusik,She is also a pianist and works as anaccompaniment and substitute keyboard player at theaters in Long Island area.
Aside from music, Shiori enjoys knitting, crocheting, and skiing.
