We are very happy to announce that Jay Dorman, alumni parent, longstanding member of the Board of Trustees and former Board Chair, will be presented with the Franz E. Winkler Leadership Award at our Dinner Reception following our Golf Classic on Monday, June 26, 2017.

Jay joined the Board of Trustees in 1997 and has served as the School’s legal counsel, offering his services on a pro bono basis. He also served on the Board’s Executive and Finance Committees. He was appointed Board Chair in 2009 and served in this capacity until June 2016.  Under his leadership we have seen significant growth, including the School and Glen Brook expansion and barn reconstruction. Jay is a partner with the law firm of Bryan Cave LLP, a firm with over 800 attorneys and offices in 18 cities around the world, where he practices corporate and securities law. Jay is the parent of three Waldorf Alumni, Joanna ’05, Ken ‘99 and Jennifer ‘95. He is also the proud grandparent of Daniel who is currently in the Waldorf School’s nursery.

The Franz E. Winkler Leadership Award is given to a person who:

• has been a leader in the School
• provided vision and direction
• guided the growth and advancement of our School
• inspires loyalty and support for a shared vision of the School
• sets a fine example
• empowers others to excel and achieve their personal best
