Seth Skolnik ’85

Seth Skolnik ‘85 has long embraced various forms of media and the technologies that enable their creation and delivery. From waking to WINS and enjoying WNBC played on the bus during his daily journey to Garden City, to taking in Brady Bunch and other reruns after school, and tinkering with early personal computers, he was doomed from the start. Fortunately, he found a way to leverage his affinity for media and technology into a semblance of a career which melds both areas of interest.

Over the last twenty-five years, Seth has provided executive leadership at the intersection of media and technology to deliver new businesses, value creation, and innovative services. He’s been fortunate to work with new technologies and platforms as they’ve emerged from the early days of online services and the Web, mobile, video-on-demand, and in recent years, virtual reality, blockchain, and 5G wireless. He’s held long-tenured executive positions at Paramount Pictures and Technicolor, and for the last four years, at technology startup Live Planet, Inc. as chief operating officer helping the company introduce next-generation video solutions.

Following his fourteen years at Waldorf, Seth attended Dartmouth College and graduated with honors and a BA in history. He later earned an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife Victoria and daughters Sophie and Emma, to whom he recently began introducing ’60s and ’70s television classics.
