As part of their community service and outreach initiatives, two Long Island Nets players, Devin Cannady and CJ Massinberg visited the Waldorf School on Tuesday, January 21st to talk to the Waldorf athletic teams and make a donation to the school in partnership with Costello’s Ace Hardware, Home & Garden Stores. The Long Island Nets are the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets. The team recently donated 4 LI Nets tickets to the Waldorf Athletic Director during a Community Three-Point Competition that took place during The Waldorf School’s Alumni Basketball games on January 11th. Proceeds from the event were donated to the Interfaith Nutrition Network (INN).

The Waldorf School of Garden City is thrilled to have hosted the players and greatly appreciates the donation of snow removal equipment and basketballs. Athletic Director Shane Flanagan said, “It was a wonderful experience for our 7th-12th grade student-athletes to get to meet and listen to the LI Nets basketball players. CJ and Devin gave our student-athletes a glimpse into the day-to-day life of professional basketball players. We are grateful for the time they spent at the School and wish them a great season!”
