Waldorf’s Middle School Girls Basketball Team traveled to the Fundamental Sports Training Facility in Westbury for their season opener against Solomon Schecter Day School. Leading the whole first quarter, Waldorf became flat and could not buy a shot falling short, 25-10. In her second year as coach for the Middle School Girls Basketball Team, Coach Lasheena Brown remarked, “I am glad that we experienced this together. We still have a lot to work on and I am confident that we will be as successful as we were in the past.”
In the first quarter, Waldorf came out hot. 7th grade co-captain Emma Keane scored 4 points and 8th grade co-captain Phoebe Akaba-Koubel scored 2 points. However, Schechter went on a run to lead 06-19 at halftime.
“We have eight new faces on the team this year,” said Coach Brown. Emma Keane led the team and finished with 8 points. Akaba-Koubel had 2.
