Middle School Girls Basketball vs. St. Peter’s

On Tuesday, January 8th, Waldorf’s Middle School Girls Basketball Team hosted the St. Peters School. In the first quarter, Waldorf “came out cold” as 8th graders Bilan-Ardo Ali and Katarina Boberdhan were the only two who scored while the visiting team “came out hot” and scored 12 points. In the second quarter, Waldorf played tremendous defense, allowing the visitors only two baskets and outscoring their opponent, 7-4. 8th grade co-captain Abby Picoli scored 4 points and 7th graders Fiona Somers and Kate Keane each scored a basket. At the half, the score was 11-16. In the third quarter, both teams came out strong. 8th grade co-captain Phoebe Koubel and Picoli each scored a basket. 7th grader Emma Keane (6 points) helped Waldorf outscored the visitors yet again, 10-08. In the final quarter, Waldorf tried to seal the win but fell short, 25-26. “Although we didn’t come out victorious,” said Coach Brown, “I am still proud of the way the team played.”
