At sixteen, Janet began her studies at Queens College where she pursued a bachelor’s degree in education and psychology. In 1974, she graduated college with numerous honors including the Dean’s list, membership in the National Education Honors Society, Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Two years later, she completed her training and her master’s degrees in Waldorf education at the Waldorf Institute of Adelphi University. Upon graduation, she began teaching in the preschool of the Rudolf Steiner School in Manhattan and soon became a class teacher taking a class from first through third grades. In 1990, Janet began teaching part-time at the Waldorf School of Garden City as a support teacher and then in 1992, helped create the Nursery class program.
