Melissa has worked in a variety of mental health settings with children, adolescents and adults throughout New York City and Long Island. Most recently, while at a local public High School, she provided individual, group and family counseling to students and families in order to promote academic success. After graduating with a bachelor’s of arts in psychology from Hunter College, she earned a master's in social work from Adelphi University. A certified school social worker and a fully licensed New York State Clinical Social Worker, Melissa is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and volunteers for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). In addition to providing counseling and consultation at the Waldorf School of Garden City, Melissa is an adjunct professor at Adelphi University's School of Social Work and spends her free time with her two young daughters and husband.
