Inspiring Faculty, dedicated Staff

The faculty at the Waldorf School of Garden City are models for the kind of people we hope to graduate: bright, relentlessly curious, and cross-culturally fluent. They are committed teachers and scholars - people who want to help you develop personally and intellectually.

We cannot say enough about how profoundly your teachers will affect your life. Because of our size and small classes, you will get to know your teachers as human beings, and in turn, they will get to know you.

Mark served two summers as a trip leader here at Camp Glen Brook, most recently in 2010 as leader of the Falcon Outdoor Leadership Program. Mark's good humor and enthusiasm for working with young people in the outdoors is a wonderful asset to the Glen Brook staff. A cum laude graduate of Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, Mark majored in philosophy and was an outing club expedition leader. He was recipient of the 2009 Barlow Enrichment Grant for travel in India and is a student in the Kamana Naturalist Program for naturalist skills and wilderness awareness. Mark was most recently the wilderness educator of the Chewonki Foundation in Wiscasset, Maine. In his spare time, Mark enjoys rock climbing, canoeing and kayaking, and backpacking. Glen Brook is a community where learning happens through fun and adventure, Mark says. I'm so excited to be part of this wonderful place.
