Community Supported Agriculture

The Waldorf School of Garden City is dedicated to Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), a revolutionary system of partnerships between consumers and farmers that promotes values of environmental responsibility and healthy, nutritious living.

Located in the hills of the Taconic Range in Columbia County, New York, the Hawthorne Valley Farm is a 400-acre farm, comprised of pastures, fields, woodlands, and a 12–acre market garden. Through the Waldorf School of Garden City, Hawthorne Valley Farm also provides a CSA program that delivers 40 varieties of organic and biodynamic vegetables and produce on a weekly basis to our Garden City campus for approximately 21-weeks between June and November.

Members in the CSA receive a share of the weekly garden harvest from Hawthorne Valley Farm. Shares for the June through November year in the CSA are available beginning in March. Interested consumers are encouraged to sign-up and pre-pay through the Hawthorne Valley Farm website.

For further information, please contact Monica Pavlidis (516) 742-1174. Pick-Up Days are Thursdays between 2:00 pm and 6:30 pm at the “Garden Gate” along Cambridge Avenue.

Our partnership with Hawthorne Valley Farm has been a fulfilling one, as we continuously look for ways to promote high quality, organic, and seasonal agriculture.
