Waldorf Watch: Waldorf School of Garden City Music Department Holds 3rd Annual Fall Concert

Thursday, October 20th, the Waldorf School of Garden City Music Department held its third annual High School Fall Concert. Beginning in 2013, the Fall Concert has been a way to kick-start the performing year, giving High School musicians something to dedicate their hard work towards right at the start. More than 70 students performed across five different performing ensembles: the Jazz Band, 9th and 10th Grade Band, Instrumental Ensemble, Chorus, and Fermata the Blue a Cappella. In addition, the Community Service club was able to raise over $200 to support the rebuilding efforts in Haiti through their lobby bake sale.

Seventh grader, Joshua Wang, who earlier this year received the Daniel Pearl violin for use for one year, spoke in honor of Pearl, and then played with the orchestra in tribute to the late journalist.

Below please enjoy some of the highlights of the evening. We hope to see you at some of our future events: The Middle and Lower School Concert on Wednesday, December 7th at 7:00 PM and the Annual Carol Sing and Alumni Reception on Wednesday, December 21st at 8:00 PM. Both events will be held in the school’s Auditorium. Thank you to all who performed and attended, and we will see you again soon!
