The Waldorf School of Garden City is proud to announce that senior Sheppard Somers was named a Commended Student in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program.

“We are very proud of Sheppard’s outstanding academic achievements,” said High School Chairman Roland Rothenbucher. “He has demonstrated an enduring passion for learning which will serve him and others well wherever life leads him.”

Sheppard’s favorite courses include Calculus, Physics and German and he is very involved with Varsity Soccer and Student Council. Outside of school, he builds surfboards, competes internationally in Irish Dance and attends lecture at Brookhaven National Laboratory.
