Waldorf Student Receives Making a Difference High School Scholarship Award from NEFCU

The Waldorf School of Garden City is pleased to announce that Waldorf senior MariaAnna Paone (photo right) received the Making a Difference High School Scholarship Award from the Nassau Educators Federal Credit Union (NEFCU) for her outstanding academic excellence and community service contributions. The $500 was presented to MariaAnna during the High School Assembly on Friday, April 4. During her free time, MariaAnna has volunteered over 100 hours at Winthrop University Hospital. She recently completed an internship in the Emergency Unit at Bronx Lebanon Hospital. A three-sport varsity athlete and captain, MariaAnna has a perfect attendance record for all four years at Waldorf’s high school. She was one of two appointed senior delegates at this year’s Model United Nations, where she assisted younger members in their presentations and position papers.
