The Waldorf School of Garden City is proud to announce that high school senior Noel Cahill has been named Commended Student in the 2010 National Merit Scholarship Program.
“We are very proud of Noel’s outstanding academic achievements,” said High School Chairman Roland Rothenbucher. “He has demonstrated an enduring passion for learning which will serve him and others well wherever life leads him.”
A student at the Waldorf School since ninth grade, Noel has enjoyed his coursework in history and philosophy and has been very active in the forum club where he engages his peers in philosophical discussions. Outside of school, he is in a band and loves to play acoustic guitar.
The Waldorf School of Garden City is a college preparatory day school teaching early childhood through grade 12. Students in the sophomore and junior classes take the Preliminary Scholastic Achievement Test (PSAT) and National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT) in school during the month of October.
