Waldorf Watch: Alumni Basketball Games & Community Three-Point Contest

On Saturday, January 12th, our Waldorf community gathered for our annual Alumni Basketball Games and Community Three-Point Contest.

The day began with our Men’s Alumni Game which included players from the Class of 2002 – Class of 2018. The men fell right back into their Waldorf ways giving the crowd an hour of incredible entertainment. The final score of the game was 55-43 with the home team (in pinnies) taking home the win.

The Community Three-Point Contest followed with 27 contestants including alumni, alumni parents, current parents and current students. The contest raised $270 which will be matched by The Waldorf School of Garden City for a total of $540! Proceeds will benefit The INN (Interfaith Nutrition Network) in conjunction with our MLK Service Day on Thursday, 1/17.

Landon Twine ’11 took home the first place prize of four (4) Brooklyn Nets tickets. Michael Reed ’18 followed in second place winning two (2) tickets to the St. Johns vs. Providence Game. Current 10 grader, Zisis Blades ’21 came in third place and received a $50 gift certificate for Waldorf merchandise. Congratulations to all of our finalists!

We wrapped up the day with our Women’s Alumni Game which included players from the Class of 1976 – Class of 2018. The final score of the game was 26-25 with Bella Fraim ‘13 hitting a buzzer beater to win the game for the away team (in Waldorf alumni t-shirts).
